Our roving reporter should be back in the air by now. Open sewers, crowded trains & people splashing paint on his fore head far behind him. It's been quiet without you Collin. So get back here and tell us all how it went.
it will be good to have you back mate.
Cheers, Greenman

Greetings Kitists,
We should not rush him. He will need de-lousing, a full medical check up and a period of quarantine and counselling before rejoining ‘normal’ society.
And all because ‘it was free’!
Get Well Soon Collin Best Regards Dick

Collin obviosly carefully considered his decontamination prior to this epic trip. Why else would you build a conseratory with a built in toilet?
cheers, Greenman

I’m black back…actually I was right the first time, I am black!
Got in to LHR at 7am, two hours to clear immigration and get my luggage, and I thought India was disorganised and slow?
Broken promises meant we had to leave Belgaum/India at 5pm on Tuesday the 17th. for an overnight train to Mumbai (A/C sleeper class, they highly recommended…. don’t make me laugh!) arrived Mumbai at 6.30am on Wednesday 16th and got ripped off by a taxi driver (again!) walked around Mumbai all day for something to do and we checked in at 11pm on Wednesday 18th as our flight was as 2.15am on Thursday 19th once air-side that was delayed to 3.15am….so ten hours later landed at Heathrow at 7am (India time 1.15pm!)
Cold and raining on arrival here just added to my misery, so still not a happy bunny…. Never again! More when I calm down……I will highly recommend all these Indian Kite festivals to all those I don’t like in 2012.
I titled my thubnail photo 'I see no SHIPS, but plenty of SH_T! I was really fcuk'd in the pictures below, physicially and mentally, and NO I was not singing 'Mammy' : Thank you all for your comments on here, cheered me up no end to log in abroad and at least see me there was light at the end of that long arduous tunnel of punishing events!Attachments:

NO....we gave this one a tip as we agreed his fare BEFORE we left and he got us there pronto! The traffic in central Mumbai was mayhem and we were passing by people and vehicles by millimeters so I thought I would film the chaos....when I got the camera out it calmed down so much so that now you could actually see the tarmac in front, as soon as I stopped filming it all kicked off again bumper to bumper! Typical!
The rip off was at 6.30am in the dark, when we got off the train and agreed a fare of 400 rupees to our destination, arriving there Luke gave him a 500 rupee note and in milliseconds the 'palming' Mumbai Mugger showed us it was a 100 rupee note.....so we had to give him a further 300 rupees, as he scarpered Luke checked his remaining money, and the only 500 rupee note he did have in his pocket was GONE!! So it cost us 800 rupees, double our agreed fare! £1 = 80 rupees Concession of opinions seems to generally agree with my feelings! Hi Collin, how are you? I'm sending you some photos taken in India. See you next. Regards, Pat----- Hi Pat-----, I say to everybody that has asked me how I am....EXHAUSTED and almost dead, as it was not a relaxing or even normal kite festival! I bet you are tired too! Thanks for the photos, hope we fly together soon. Kind regards, Collin Hi Collin, even I say the same thing at all: it was gruelling adventure, did not seem right that we went there to have fun with kites. I have heard many kitefliers and think just like us. I think if next year the organizers do not change the programming, I will not go right. Regards, Pat-----I shouldnt complain....the Train was BAD, but it could have been WORSE!
