If my quest to find a realistic RC simulator that would run well using an iMac and Windows as a virtual machine I seem to have finally got there. Phoenix lists that it will run on virtual machines and I now have it going with Mac Osx Snow Leopard, Windows 7, and VM Ware Fusion 3. Phoenix comes with a DVD and cable with some sort of dongle that prevents software theft, this has to plug into a real transmitter to get the program to run. However you do get the advantage of running on more that one machine, only one at a time though. Our Global moderator payed me a visit yesterday, and found it very hard to leave alone :-) The scenes, Helicopters and Aircraft are just amazing, and the realism to flying that exact same model appears to be as good as I have got so far. (No repair bills though) Worth a look if anyone is interested Phoenix Software here

Hi Dave,
It froze staright after i moved the missing dll file to the system 32 file, and thats what the fms website told me to do, the laptop is fine now just did a system restore. And have also deleted the missing file so it does'nt happen again for now, until i know what im doing.

Jamie Hi Jamie, I agree that there was some confusion on the net for the correct location for the .dll. On Vista which is when any support from the author of the software seemed to disappear, the location on my laptop was just place the file within the FMS folder and nowhere else. If you want the dll file I used, I can upload it here or email it to you (some sites I tried to get the file looked very iffy) regards Dave (Still half asleep hope it makes sense)

Hi Roy, I may have a unregistered OEM version of Windows Vista going back to my IT days, if you are just wanting to use the Virtual windows machine for a simulator and some other apps this would possibly do. I will have a look later today Dave

Thanks Dave, but I have bitten the bullet and ordered a copy of XP Pro with SP3, I hope that it should be here in a couple of days (snow permitting!). I have kept away from Vista after some of the reports, and 7 seems to have its limitations with some of the older software. I'll let you know how it goes...

Oh and for embroidering the Hoodie with that crap smashing logo on it:

That's the old standard Futaba plug, I got mine from Mile High Wings in the USA complete with a cd containing FMS: at the time, the only other way was to buy a sim in the UK complete with lead, and that was a LOT more expensive.
