I thought we might just stay for an indifinate amount of time this year. Tossers How do they know that far in advance, if it had a tech fault the day before maybe cancel it, is it not enough people going out or coming back on that day, have they cancelled the outbound flight as well.

We're not even started looking for flight or booking the hotel yet.
Better start soon or you'll all be on your way back and we'll have missed it.

Should not be a problem for this year, BUT .... Snip from a Fuerte FB group"The sad news is that even though they are doing the evaluation due to the huge petition which was signed by thousands of people over the last two years but the government has already decided to close it permanently next year before the Summer season 😢😢😢😩😩😩" DUNES ROAD CLOSURE ⚠️⚠️ Sadly they will be closing the Dunes road temporarily between the 19th August and the beginning of October (exact date still to be determined) to finish their ongoing evaluation of the traffic volume going through the Natural Park which has been going on for a while now in order to determine whether the road should be closed permanently in the first quarter of 2019. This also coincide with the filming of the new Warner Bros. superproduction of the new Wonder Woman film. Translation from article below: “A month and a half without vehicles For the final evaluation of the ongoing impact study, the dunes road will have to remain closed for a month and a half to all traffic concretely between mid-August and beginning of October of this year, according to the first appraisals of the Cabildo the interruption of the traffic affecting the stretch between two roundabouts: the one to access to the hotels Tres Islas and Oliva Beach and that of Parque Hollandés, not affecting to small villages population. In the case of the capacity of the road, the Department of Transport must carry out a comparison of the transfer of vehicles «before, during and after» This closure will be evaluated for a month and a half. This provisional closing will coincide with the filming of the Superproduction Wonder Woman in the Natural Park of Corralejo, where Warner Bros has requested the use of the road. The base camp of the film starring the Israeli actress Gal Gadot is being mounted for the last two weeks at the Parque Hollandés’ roundabout.”

What will happen if they decide not to open the road after the filming is done or the filming runs over does this mean the festival will still go ahead? but in a different location

Just about finished, maybe the odd tweak Greetings Dave That's really good, the artwork is superb, I feel a real mean bugger telling you (if you already didn't know anyway) that the camel you have used is a Bactrian camel (Central Asian camel) the only camels you see in Fuerte. are the Dromedary (Arabian camels) Regards Dick.

That's really good, the artwork is superb, I feel a real mean bugger telling you (if you already didn't know anyway) that the camel you have used is a Bactrian camel (Central Asian camel) the only camels you see in Fuerte. are the Dromedary (Arabian camels)
Regards Dick.Greetings Dick aka POP, I must first congratulate you for joining this thread and bringing your awesome powers of observation and superior knowledge of camels to us. You are in fact correct, this camel in the artwork would not normally be native to Fuerteventura. However, you may be unaware, in 1972 a Bactrian Camel was transported to the island for a breeding program with the normal island camels (Dromedary) sadly this idea failed, but this image is an outline of the camel used within the program. The imported Fuerte camel (Bactrian) was known locally as "Collin the Cock" who was chosen from vast numbers of other camels in Central Asia because he was a bit of a hit with the women and produced wonderful offspring. Very sadly, changes in his new location, weather, wind direction etc, Collin could not perform after he arrived on the island and was later to be known as "Collin the Dangle" but he still lives there. Should you wish to visit and meet him on your upcoming visit to Fuerteventura, then he still does take visitors, he only receives people that require Viagra to engage with their opposite sex, and we are almost sure you will fall into this category of human. Collin can be found in a small village to the West of Correlajo, it is called "El Bullshitto" and not currently listed on Google Earth or on Sat Nav directions, but please feel free to ask a local resident. Best regards Dave Picture of "Collin the Cock Dangle"

The road of the Dunes of Corralejo reopens on October 6
The twelve most controversial road miles of the summer, those of the road that runs through the Dunes of Corralejo , reopen next Saturday, October 6. After two months closed to traffic , the full City Council of La Oliva yesterday asked the Cabildo of Fuerteventura to carry out studies with the aim of keeping it passable and to guarantee the conservation of this natural park. On the initiative of the Popular Party (PP), all political groups except Votemos La Oliva yesterday supported the reopening of the road, at the same time requested the Cabildo to carry out the necessary studies to ensure the conservation of the Natural Park of Las Dunas, to review the Use and Management Plan (PRUG) of this protected area, "adopting the corrective measures in the environmental body that the pertinent studies determine, in order to keep the current highway passable". Within the plenary agreements of yesterday, the City Council of La Oliva will also urge the Government of the Canary Islands to execute the link or semi-link with the highway to be able to connect the residents of Parque Holandés and La Caleta, as neighbors have been demanding for several years and now more with the provisional closure of the road and with the announced final closure. 43 YEARS OF TRACK. The Dunes of Corralejo highway , which opened in 1975, has remained without vehicle traffic for two months on a provisional and experimental basis. This closing coincided with the filming of Wonder Woman 1984 , the overproduction of the Warner, and with the realization of an impact study of the final closure of the track. Because, we must not forget that in February 2019 - when the completion of the highway between Corralejo and La Caldereta is scheduled - barriers will be installed to prevent the passage of cars permanently. The 43 years of history of the Dunes road are marked by the demonstrations: those in favor of closing more than two decades ago; and the two summoned this summer by the residents association of Parque Holandés and La Caleta to be reopened.
