So how does June 24th and 25th 2017 look ? Is that weekend fairly free? Good long days. June 21st is the longest day. We won't be able to make this one due to a prior booking. Good luck with your new festival. We hope to be able to make it down to you in future years.

Good, Roy and Helen.
At the moment, June 24th and 25th 2017 are favourite at Cardigan Island Coastal farm Park. By the way, what sort of kites do you fly? Do you have a large selection? Are you part of a Kiting group?

Just visited the campsite and walked down to the flying and camping area.
wind was good onshore breeze, didn't notice and drop in wind at the bottom of the field, good ground for ground spikes/anchors, some rock outcrops.
Best IMHO place to camp is along the top fence, the ground is flatter there, there is ponies in the field now, but they are being moved out this week, grass is short'ish and I didn't notice any 5H17 or cowpat mess when I walked around, or was lucky not to step in any.
The café is well presented with gift shop in the same building.
Kiddies play area outside along with the farm park.
The Owner, Lyn was very helpful during my visit although very busy due to staff absences.
I've asked Lyn to update the forum with more details about the weekend.
Skybums will be there as well, you could give your name to Paul if your coming to the weekend.
We can turn up Friday morning and leave Monday.
Can't think of anything else, any questions mail me or call Paul at Skybum.

Cardigan Island Coastal Farm Park Kite Festival 24-25 June 2017. We've just got back from this weekend away, the journey there on Friday was wet, raining most of the way, the last 15 miles or so was dry, we got to the venue just as Bob and Carol arrived, we went into the reception and meet Lyn, He offered us all a tea or coffee while we waited for Skybums to arrive, after Welsh cakes Skybums arrived so more drinks and this time Scones, Jam and Clotted cream was served, Heather (KKF) and Bill (MKF) arrived then so more drinks. We drove in convey down to the flying area and set up, Was a bit windy that night on the cliff top. Saturday was perfect flying weather, had loads of kites up from early morning to early evening. Sunday was very windy and overcast till 11'ish. wind dropped and it brightened up, we flew kites till 3:30 - 4 o'clock then started to pack up. We again drove in convey up to the reception ( saved opening and shuting all the gates for each vehicle ) was meet by Lyn and invited in for a drink before the trip home, 4 of us stayed on the campsite overnight and came home this morning. Even the Mayor came down to see us. Most of us went down to see the sealions from the viewing point, (sorry no pictures of them). L ast 2 pictures were of the view we had all weekend, Thank to Lyn and all the staff at Cardigan Island Coastal Farm Park for a wonderful weekend, See you all again next year.
Roy and Helen.

The view's look great and hope the festival grows. I would have considered going myself had it not clashed with Catch the Wind festival at Morecambe from where I have just returned. A suggestion for the organisers next year looking at your pic's a few hundred of those woolly lawn mowers wouldn't go amiss for a few months before the festival.

A suggestion for the organisers next year looking at your pic's a few hundred of those woolly lawn mowers wouldn't go amiss for a few months before the festival. There was Ponies in the feild up until 3 weeks ago, the grass was short'ish for most of the feild, there was a few patches of taller plants/grasses. With sheep thier waste product is wetter/smellier longer than Horse/Ponies waste. We have made enquiries about another feild on the site that can be seen better from the Cafe, but that will depend on the crop that has already been planted in the feild for next year. Roy.

We have heard from Lyn at Cardigan Island Coastal Farm Park in Gwbert, Cardigan, West Wales, the 2nd.Kite Festival there will be over the week-end 23rd/24th June 2018. He has taken on board the change of field to the one suggested last year. He also supplying a couple of portable toilets for the kite flyers.
Paul(skybums) will get back to Lyn next week, but needs to sound people out to see who is interested, 'PM' me if intrested or for more details and I'll pass details on to Paul.
We had a wonderful time there last year, we were all made most welcome on arrival and through out our stay, had good wind and weather the whole weekend.
Go on give it a try, you might like it.
Roy and Helen
