Sadly not - unless we are allowed to fly by proxy - as we are at the Olympics that weekend.

Greetings Sledders,
Why not; especially as the last one was washed out.
Were I to be honoured with the exalted role of Judge I could perhaps be persuaded to accept a postal entry from Siobhan in the 'Prettiest Section', delivered to Roy's or my mailbox in the form of a JPG!
Best Regards Dick.

You'd have to be a judge, because going by your last effort there's no way you are going to succeed as a competitor!

SLED 4 rules now posted at www.roy-martin.co.uk/SLEDNote the changes: there are now two classes, Open and Kiss, and the design rules have been simplified (I hope). Prizes will be nominal, if they exist at all. You had better get designing and making

Minor mod to the interpretation of rule 5 has been posted, to try and make it simpler and clearer, I hope I'm looking forward to some revolutionary new designs

Results of the internationally-renowned Jolly Up Sled Competition (Christian Baden Powell made and brought one, untested before Friday) KISS class: Best made: Keith Boxall. Because of inadequate communication on the part of the organiser, Keith was unable to take part in the flying competition. I do promise to try and improve things before the next round, honest Keith Best flyer: Arthur Dibble. Open class: Best made: Christian Baden Powell. As Christian's kite insisted in flying only in circles, it also did not take part in the flying Best flight: Roy Martin In the short-notice absence of a certain Mr Dabbs (how appropriate for an ex-policeman), I had to press gang a replacement judge, Janneke Groen from Holland. At the moment she came to judge, Arthur's kite escaped from his line and appeared to drift across the M3, so the result was pretty much decided for her Best overall: Roy Martin Irony is normally wasted on kite flyers, but on this occasion it seemed appropriate for the last two awards. Despite being inadequate in the length department, Danny Rice's kite was included in the judging. Prettiest: Danny Rice (I'll let him explain the irony!) Remarkably, there appeared to be no attempt made to bribe the judge, so the final award was made by the organiser. Best bribe: Janneke Groen There WILL be a SLED 5 competition at Jolly Up 12 in April 2013.
