Searching through the kite making section I was looking at the make of one of the sowing machines. Question who has what make and what is the cost. I have one which we have had for 30 years it has all the electronic gizmo's but drives me nuts when I use it. It bunches up gets tangled and is generally a right pain in the arse. The bobbin is a bloody nightmare to change as it under the machine and I have to lay it on its side to get in and then it falls out so kite making classes which I have often fancied attending is a bit of a no no as I would probable throw it out the window which I probably should have done years ago. I have tried all the adjustments but it doesn't seem to make a lot of difference. SO who has what and how much and is it easy the change the bobbin.

I cannot recommend any modern machines as I have no experience of them. I use a VERY old Pfaff 1221, which is mostly good enough for me. For more up to date advice, I suggest either Keith Boxall, or Woking Sewing Centre, 303 Woodham Lane, New Haw, Addlestone, Surrey, KT15 3NY, where I know Keith got his machine(s). I found them very helpful when I went there for spares, though my machine is too old for much help these days! You may even find that they would sort out (some) of the problems with the machine you have, as they do many repairs there. Good luck!
