I have sent an email to all on my "kite" listing as follows ************ I intended to book my new steam engine into the Lingfield Steam show this year and telephoned Brian Donking to see if there were any spaces left. As soon as he heard it was me (remembered me) he went off on one and "told" me to forget my engines and more or less begged me to bring my kites and any of my kiting friends along for the entire weekend instead and has accordingly allocated an entire field for us to fly in You are all welcome to come along and camp from the Thursday evening (29/7/10) until the Monday morning (02/8/10) or any period therein As ever with paid for events, you will require passes to get in and out as this is another ticket only show, if you fancy a new venue, with a "Best Western" close enough even for me to walk to then email me with your vehicle registration number Here is a link to the web site www.lingfieldsteamshow.co.uk/ ************* Up to you, I have one or two flyer's who have confirmed already but would like to bring this event up to the Kingsfold level if possible and the only way that can be done is if we get the numbers Please respond to my regular email address which is johndimmock@media-services.co.uk Over to you Cheers Big John

I noticed it unfortunately clashed too!
Weighing up the pro's and con's for me I will have to say please count me IN BJ, email sent as requested!
A FREE event will always get my immediate attention, its very local to me, and the extended weekender from Thursday to Monday with on site attractions is just too good to pass up!
Having had to choose I somewhat selfishly decided by what was easier for me, but my choice does have the benefit of putting on a kite display to a new public audience...

Events clashing are looking to become something of the norm these days, and things can only really get worse. That being said it does give us all more options on your own personal preference and choices. I am usually up for something new and if it is anything like Kingsfold then that would be great. Would also like to fly the LED kites as much as possible this year, and for me the motorway incidents of last year at Basingstoke, amusing as it seemed at the time, made me think that I do not want to become responsible for any sort of road accident with these kites, especially on a Motorway where things happen quickly. Please count me in for the long weekender
