As I have just changed my mobile phone contact, I thought I would check if Fuerteventura was part of the "Feel at Home" plan with the Three network. Looks like I am in luck

CAR HIRE We booked our car for Fuerte back in January, seemed a good price. Decided to check current price and found it was 32euros cheaper, so cancelled then rebooked. Might be worth a look.

CAR HIRE Most of the Kite Weekenders use either Payless or Cicar. Both have offices in the Airport.

I normally use Cicar, collection at an airport office is almost a must. Do not be fooled by some adverts, they advertise collection at the airport, that is collecting you in a coach and driving 30 minutes in the opposite direction to where you want to go. Then when you do get there, the car is not even ready for collection and then on return, you have to drive the car back to some place out in the middle of nowhere, and wait for a coach. This is a link for Cicar

Greetings
Fuerteventura Car Hire
The three car hire companies that most of the Brit. festival goers choose are Payless Cicar and Pluscar. Cicar and Payless are owned by the same group, it is fair to say that Cicars vehicles are generally newer than Payless but you can rent a Payless vehicle and end up with a new car. Cicar are generally a little more expensive but not always on all models. Cicar and Payless have their own desks in the airport arrival terminal, which is a real bonus and not always the case in Fuerte.
Pluscar are even better value but they do not have a desk, a rep meets you in the carpark, if you look online at The Fuerteventura Forum you will see there is a poll of who are the favourites and these three are always on top.
There are very many other car hirers many of them are cheaper then any of the above three and this is generally because they themselves have no cars at all, they are simply agents for companies that do and they virtually all use Orlando. It is hard to begin to tell you just how awful an experience renting a car with Orlando is, to start with they do not have a base at the airport they are situated on an industrial estate a mile down the road where you are taken by minibus (minus luggage and the driver only) you then need to return to the airport to collect your partner /colleagues and any luggage after enduring up to an hours wait whilst whilst your paperwork etc is completed, this is if your car has not already broken down! They are cheap for a reason, there is no such thing as a free lunch!
It is by the way always cheaper to rent online from the UK then at Fuerte. I hope this helps. I use Payless but would happily use Cicar.
Regards Dick.
