Some of us kiteflyers have put on a wonderful display of kites in rain, gales and even tried when there was no wind while some just looked at their 'card kites' and watched us!
I myself think that as the season nears to an end that at South Of England show, or Kingsfold, all those 'card' kiteflyers should get their kites out of their moth eaten bags and put on a display for us all-weather kiteflyers so that we can sit and watch THEM for a change, thus giving us and our kites a well earned rest!
What do other people think?

An after thought:
If you are confused about the term ‘Card Kites’ Trashman is referring to, it was a solution I though of during the summer to help all the non kite flyers, not wishing to diss them, they enjoy kiting, participate in their own way, enjoying the spectacle, camaraderie etc. as much as the rest of us, BUT are somewhat reluctant to come out to join US and play with their Kites!
They do also support the traders and buy Kites and all the paraphernalia that goes with kiting. ( I saw newcomers buying banner poles for example, from acorns mighty oaks etc…it’s a start! )
To save on MONEY (sorry traders) WEIGHT and INCONVENIENCE for these people, how simple would it be to have a set of Playing Cards made, depicting kites of all description, lines, reels, bags, pegs etc etc. to carry around to events, they could easily get a ‘Card’ out of their pack….say a vented rev (depending on the wind conditions) another ‘card’ with suitable line (remembering it’s a four line kite) and a card with a ‘stake’ to peg out. ( I said stake NOT steak campers) Job done….they are flying without leaving their caravans / awnings etc. and packing away is a cinch too! Can be played in all weathers, be careful when ‘Pickled’ cos another player may take your best ‘card’ and leave you something rubbish, like a picture of just a rev sail or something.
The possibilities of this game are as endless as you imagination, so who wants to play?
