Milton Creek Country Park is situated just off Grovehurst Road , Sittingbourne.
Kristen the park ranger approached Kent Kite Flyers in regard to having a kite weekend to promote the park. Many of you will know Kristen as the rannger who formerly organised the Capstone Kite Festival.
Having now moved to a new local authority, Swale, Kristen view is kite flying would interest the local residents into using the park. It is still in the throes of being developed. There is a probabily of camping from the Friday to the Monday, but cannot confirm as yet as there are few issues to overcome.
Flying each day will be from 11am to 5pm, with parking adjacent to the flying area. It is anticipated this will be a social fly more on the lines of Teston.
Will update probably in July in regard to the camping and facilities available.

Having spoken to Kristen to-day, he informs me that he will have access to the local community centre for use of toilets and water.
He has obtain a quote for a security team to be on site but the cost is more than his budget, so he is arranging for two of the park volunteers to be security during the day and Kristen will do the patrolling at night. All campers will be responsible for their own security, making sure that vehicles are locked, whilst away from them, also you have sufficient supplies as once on site the main gates will be locked although there is an ASDA store not more than 10 minutes walk from the site. Please contact me if you are interested in coming along to support Kristen in his efforts.

As there has almost no interest in camping on site from kite flyers, the facilities for camping will not be in place, hopefully some kiteflyers will come along and support the event on either Saturday or Sunday. Saturday access is only from 10am due to a fun run taking place beforehand. Sunday access is from 9am.

Hi Malcolm, I am very new to this, but I am going to try to make on Saturday/Sunday with my Flexifoil Stranger if that's Ok? Take care, Conrad Conrad, Thanks for taking the time to reply. It is the first year at this venue, and so as there is not enough funding from the local council, there are no official demonstrations, it is more of a fly-in. There is sufficient room with the right wind for evry-one to be able to fly happily. No doubt a few of the locals will get in the way, but a designated area has been agreed to be set aside for the public to fly. I will send you my mobile phone number by private message, just in case you have problems accessing the site. There are no signs at the entrance to announce the park, but as I stated there are two very large green gates set back from the road which is the entrance for vehicles. Malcolm
