Although nothing directly to do with the kite festival, the Bognor Regis Illumination Gala (that raises the cash for seafront lights) will be lining up next to West Park on Sunday afternoon and leaving for the parade at 8:30 pm on Sunday. Video below (a bit long) gives you a idea of the parade, and there will be a firework display at the pier when the parade finishes. I was asked would we like to enter a kite related float, I never actually answered the question, but it you fancy doing something I could make arrangements for a lorry

HELP WITH PRIZES
Hi all,
As you may imagine, having an extra day for the kite festival this year comes with its extra challenges, and the Tombola that has proven to be very popular and has added a significant cash input back into the festival, is in need of more Tombolo prizes for this year, we are having to come up with approx 400 prizes.
If you have any kites, kite related items or perhaps any unwanted gifts however large or small that might be suitable, could you please email or message me, and bring them along to the the festival please.
Many thanks Dave

BRKF Road Closures
Please be aware for arrival and departure from the kite festival
Not sure exactly what way your Satnav may take you !!!
GALA ROAD CLOSURES Don't forget that there will be several road closures in force over the weekend: Esplanade (Clarence Road to Lennox St) Thurs 6pm-Tues 8am *****
Silverston Avenue (Furse Feld to Kings Parade) Sun 3-8.45pm and various roads West Park to Pier Sunday night during procession itself
***** Your Satnav may direct you this way, the other closures will not really be an issue I feel

ANOTHER NOTE: Participating Kite Fliers at Bognor ! I received a phone call this morning from the main Police Helicopter Unit for the NOTAM I have in order for 1000ft height clearance this Bank Holiday. Please observe this, as they said they can be quite active in the area. Thank you 🙂

But surely none of the flyers participating would ever fly above the approved height clearance would they?

It's potentially as much to do with the operating hours as it is the altitude, since the NOTAM runs to 22:30 (BST) which is after dark.
