Greetings Kiteists,
I learnt this morning of the sad news that Carolyn Swift had died. She was known to many and indeed most of us as a keen kiter and together with her husband Jerry as a great promoter of everything and anything related to kite flying. She had been suffering from Leukemia for a very long time. I last saw her at the Bognor festival 2018 when she was doing somewhat better; sadly her illness returned with a vengeance and claimed her life. My thoughts go out to Jerry.
Regards Dick.

Likewise, it was very sad to hear about Carolyn On arrival home after Fuerte we had received a letter from Jerry & Carolyn, saying things were not looking good and that they did not want to deliver the bad news along with our Christmas Card. Both of them used to attend Fuerte on a regular basis in the early days of the kite festival. We had hoped they would have had a little more time together, sadly this was not the case. Both Sheila and my thoughts go out to Jerry and family at this very difficult time. Regards Dave

The sad news of Carolyn's death has hit us hard. We met Carolyn and Jerry in 2005 at the Fuerte kite festival. Carolyn and Jerry showed us around and introduced us to many of the Kiters, Carolyn was a lovely lady, very thoughtful and she was a fighter not only in life but also in Rokkaku fights. We will miss her, it was a pleasure to have known her and our thoughts are with Jerry and family at this very sad time. Regards Lynn & Courtney
