IF you want picking up I will tow your caravan to Portsmouth with my camper thus abiding by the ‘rules’ and permit for C2LLN ?Looks like this idea is a non-starter. My pass arrived this morning and it says:
4. A pass is for ONE camping unit ONLY.
Drat…hoisted by my own petard! ;D ;D ;D ;D
In truth I never originally intended towing Martin onto the common, it was just an interesting possibility of rule bending and I am really pleased to see Rule 4 with ONE and ONLY in capitals and bold text straightening out the bend I put in the rule! In 2011 there were only 5 Rules:
2011
1. Camping is NOT permitted outside the times stated on the pass or outside of the designated camping area. If people arrive prior to Friday they will be moved on.
2. Please be considerate of the fact that other campers will be possibly arriving after you. So
do not take up more space than you actually require. Remember space is limited.
3. Passes are NOT transferable and MUST not be copied.
4. The location of the kitefliers Camping area is the North side of Southsea Common and is accessible from the gate on Clarence Parade opposite the Queen's Hotel
(see map below).
5. DO NOT fly your kite in the camping area.
Having cast my baited hook in an effort to get ‘bites’ on the forum I was unsuccessful, but I did get a few amusing e-mails and comments made to me personally, so it was worth the effort!
I am now taking ONLY ONE camping unit, a substantial ‘Circus’ tent I acquired in France…Martin and I will not only be able camp, but also fly and trash our R/C Canards inside without fear of endangering the public!
