Help required please from all you experienced makers Does a pilot have ALL the trailing edge sewn up or should there be small openings at each end ? What weight nylon are they usually made from? I'm sure there will be more questions but for now I think thats it

If it is a Peter Lynn then it is all sewn up and as for the fabric as light as you can get: No heavier that 48gsm and down to 27gsm (if you can afford it)

I have a plan for the parts but does anyone have a method for sewing it together or pictures would be nice I would have thought double sided tape to hold it together then Zig Zag stitching. I will wait to see if I get shot down in flames on this one.

sorry let me clarify Which piece to sew to what first,then so on HERE is a good general technique for flowform type kites. Click on "Plans," and then on "Flow Form Type." There is a good general description on the basics of sewing this type of kite.
